Another celebrity joined Chiefs Kingdom, as Brittany Mahomes convinced Post Malone to don a team jacket during Kansas City’s Super Bowl afterparty, with fans stunned by the singer’s switch of allegiance.
Malone, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, was in Las Vegas to perform one of three national anthems played at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday: America the Beautiful.
But he connected with the Chiefs after their 25-22 OT win against the San Francisco 49ers, performing on stage with Marshmello and The Chainsmokers at XS Nightclub.
The 28-year-old hitmaker, who hails from the Dallas suburb of Grapevine, Texas, was even willing to put aside his Cowboys fandom for just a song. Malone’s father, Rich, was the Cowboys’ concession manager in the early 2000s.
However, footage from the after-party initially showed Mahomes coming to center stage to persuade Malone to trade his Cowboys jacket for a Chiefs jacket.
Brittany Mahomes had to convince Post Malone to ditch his Cowboys jacket in the first place.
Brittany was ecstatic when Malone wore a Chiefs jacket at the team’s after-party at XS Nightclub on the Las Vegas Strip.
It took some convincing as Malone refused to take it off. He was also shocked when Mahomes tired of pulling his Cowboys jacket off his back for him, as a way to make things easier.
Malone then agreed to wear Kansas City red, but signaled to Mahomes several times that he would wear her quarterback-husband’s team jacket for no longer than a song.
Fans on X, formerly Twitter, and folks at XS praised Malone for making light fun of the situation.
‘Love Post Malone! Merciful to wear the Chiefs jacket lol,’ one user wrote.
“Post Malone is the coolest man,” another tweeted.

‘Like this!! HE is now part of the (Chiefs) Kingdom. As a Texan I get it but he can wear red. lol,’ a woman said.
Others pointed to the Chiefs-Cowboys’ shared history as a sign that Malone was willing to wear Kansas City red.
“Honestly, the Chiefs were in Dallas before the Cowboys even existed, so it’s not that bad,” one person shared.
Malone previously got an infamous Chiefs tattoo after losing to Mahomes’ man Patrick and Travis Kelce in a beer pong bet in 2020.
