Burnley are in talks to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Thomas Meunier on loan for the rest of the season.

The Clarets are keen to bring in defensive reinforcements during the window and have turned their attention to the former PSG full-back.

The 32-year-old has fallen out of favor at the Signal Iduna Park and has made just seven appearances in the Bundesliga this term.

Vincent Kompany’s side are looking for further depth on their flanks as they prepare to continue talks with Leeds over Conor Roberts’ future.

The Wales player is open to making the switch ahead of the European Championship qualifying play-offs.

Leeds have explored a number of options at home and abroad after loaning back Luke Ayling to Middlesbrough, while Djed Spence’s season-long loan from Tottenham ended.

Roberts (28) has made 88 appearances for the Clarets since joining from Swansea in 2021.

However, he has struggled for game time this season, starting just eight of Burnley’s 22 Premier League games, with Vitinho often preferred by Vincent Kompany.
