Chris Evans will bring dozens of high school seniors to Washington, DC for White House live-stream event

Chris Evans and his A Starting Point co-founder Mark Kassen will bring dozens of high school seniors to Washington, DC on Tuesday at 10am EST for a live stream conversation about politics and youth involvement at the White House.

The first-time voters will meet with White House officials such as Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo and Director of Public Engagement Steve Benjamin – according to People.

The 42-year-old former Captain America and the 52-year-old Broken Soldier producer are eager to get teenagers talking about issues that affect them, including climate change, school shootings and economic opportunity.

“We live in a country of 300 million+ people, I think about 60 percent of the people voted (in the last election),” Chris told People in 2020.

“In my opinion, you’re going to have a hard time creating a government that accurately reflects who we are as a nation with those types of numbers.”

Evans continued: ‘There are many things you can do with your name as an actor. I can make booze – I don’t advise anyone to do that, I love booze – but there’s no denying that I’ve played a certain character (as Captain America), and it just happens to fit a part of me nature in terms of being someone who is politically involved and who cares about the well-being of people in this country.’

It’s been six years since Boston-born Buddhist Mark and tech entrepreneur Joe Kiani created their two-pronged video-based citizen engagement platform A Starting Point, which officially launched in 2020.

Last Wednesday, Chris signed on to star in Ethan Coen’s comedy Honey Don’t! for Focus Features alongside Margaret Qualley and Aubrey Plaza – according to Deadline.

Evans will next headline the 21st annual Emerald City Comic Con on March 1-2 at the Seattle Convention Center where he will participate in a main stage panel, take photos with fans and sign autographs.

The Scott Pilgrim Takes Off star will next star as Jack O’Malley opposite Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in Jake Kasdan’s Christmas action-adventure comedy Red One, which hits US theaters on November 15.

Oscar winner JK Simmons will take on the role of Santa, while Emmy nominee Bonnie Hunt will play Mrs. Claus in the 102-minute movie will portray with Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka and Nick Kroll.

On the personal front, Chris tied the knot with Warrior Nun star Alba Baptista four months ago after a two-year romance.

Evans is 16 years older than the Portuguese 26-year-old, who next plays Penny in Jimmy Warden’s upcoming bodyguard thriller, Borderline.
