  • Michelin Guide 2024 results released today for Great Britain and Ireland
  • 20 new restaurants have been awarded a Bib Gourmand this year

Britain’s best restaurants listed in the Michelin Guide 2024 have been announced…

This year’s Michelin guide ceremony for Great Britain and Ireland took place at The Midland Hotel in Manchester.

A Michelin star is a sign of quality and restaurants can be awarded zero to three stars based on five areas: quality of ingredients, mastery of flavor and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef in the kitchen, value for money and consistency of food .

The Michelin guide announced last week that 20 restaurants were newly awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2024 selection.

Named after Bibendum – the official name of the Michelin man – this award highlights restaurants that offer excellent quality and good value food.

This year’s selections are pleasantly varied, with culinary influences ranging from Spanish to Indian, although there is a key theme of small-plate menus throughout.

The newly crowned restaurants span Great Britain and Ireland, with London having a hugely successful year, with one new Three-Star, 3 new Two-Star and 11 new One-Star restaurants.

Cumbria adds 2 new One Stars, while Birmingham welcomed its first ever Two Star restaurant.

Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of The Michelin Guide, said: ‘It is a joy to see 20 restaurants newly awarded the Bib Gourmand in the 2024 edition of The MICHELIN Guide Great Britain & Ireland.

‘These are establishments that deserve recognition for their continued commitment to offering affordable, delicious cuisine.

‘The generosity and value for money they offer is great to see during these challenging economic times for the restaurant industry.’
