Holly Valance for PM? Tories urge former Neighbours star and pop pin-up to join them as an MP – after she ‘spoke for a nation’ with her rant against ‘crap’ woke lefties
Prominent members of the Conservative party are calling for former Neighbors star Holly Valance to stand as an MP after the actress and singer ‘spoke for a nation’ with her no-nonsense Tory views at last night’s Pop Con -introduction.
Yesterday Holly, 40, revealed herself to be a staunch supporter of the Tory Right in a surprise appearance at the launch of the ‘Popular Conservatism’ group with her billionaire real estate mogul husband Nick Candyand admitted that she was probably ‘more right’ than he was.
The couple listened to speeches from ex-prime minister Liz Truss, former business secretary Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, with Holly afterwards revealing how she was drawn to the Tory Right after ‘locking down ideas’ from ‘lefties’ earlier in life ‘ avoided.
The move is not as outlandish as it seems, with one former cabinet minister telling MailOnline it would be an ‘excellent idea’ if Holly Vallance could be persuaded to stand as a Tory candidate at the election.
Another veteran Tory said Vallance had been a regular partygoer with her husband for at least a decade and said the idea of the former pop star being a parliamentary candidate ‘could well happen’.
“Holly could be a secret weapon for the Tories,” the insider told MailOnline.
“They need all the stardust they can get, and in a world where people have had enough of identikit politicians like Keir Starmer who are afraid of their own shadows, she might be a breath of fresh air.”

She quickly landed roles in the US, including the TV show Prison Break and the Liam Neeson film, Taken.
In 2006, Holly landed the lead role in the hit action film Dead or Alive, an adaptation of the video game of the same name.

They later married in September 2012 in an extravagant £3million ceremony in Los Angeles.
Holly and Nick have been longtime friends with both Princess Eugenie and husband Jack, along with sister Princess Beatrice and her husband Dave Clark.
The couple shared numerous tropical vacations with the royal sisters, one being a trip to Saint Tropez, France.
Holly and Nick met in 2009 after meeting at a mutual friend’s dinner party.
She told the USA Online Post in 2013: “I never believed it when people said that sometimes you meet someone and you know he’s the one,” she said.
She continued: ‘But just to be completely cheesy and cliche, it was like that the first time we met.’
They welcomed two daughters together in 2013 and 2017, Luka Violet Toni and Nova Skye Coco.
Speaking to The Sunday Telegraph about his wife’s parenting skills, Nick said: ‘Holly is a perfect mother. It was a natural birth. We have no help – Holly doesn’t want anything.’
As for the child’s name, Nick said little Luka will be called by her nickname LuLu for most of the time, while her third name, Toni, is a nod to his father Tony Candy, who was born just six weeks before Holly died.
He added: ‘We decided to name her Luka Violet Toni Candy. Her nickname will be LuLu, but if she ever goes into business, LuLu Candy doesn’t quite work!’
Holly said she knew Nick was ‘the one’ as soon as she saw him
