It’s over – Joe knows it and America knows it. Now MAUREEN CALLAHAN delivers a blistering message to spineless Democrats: After THAT car crash national address, keeping Biden in office isn’t just unpatriotic… it’s dangerous

This is no longer up for debate: Joe Biden must go.

In a rushed press conference Thursday night, President Biden was relentlessly questioned by the White House press pool for the first time about his age, cognition and fitness to serve.

Eventually!

The apparent headline was meant to be the Justice Department report exonerating Biden of mishandling classified documents.

But the real headline was contained in special counsel Robert Hur’s reasoning.

He wrote that a jury was unlikely to convict because Biden, 81, is “a sympathetic, well-intentioned, elderly man with a poor memory” who suffers from “diminished capacities in advanced age.”

Biden told investigators that he could not remember when his term as vice president ended. ‘If it was 2013 — when did I stop being vice president?’ he asked.

He could not remember on the second day of his interview with prosecutors when his term as VP began: ‘Am I still vice president in 2009?’

And he couldn’t remember when his son Beau died. Not even within a series of years.

Had it been a Republican president, articles of impeachment would have been drawn up long ago. The 25th amendment would have been invoked. The opinions calling for his resignation will be relentless.

Where are the patriots in the Democratic party? Where are the Obamas and the Clintons to save us from Joe Biden?

You can’t be too weak to prosecute, but sharp enough to be the president of the United States.

Finally the Dems seem to be waking up. Party insiders told DailyMail.com that ‘now is panic time’ and ‘we’re going to see more and more Democrats saying the quiet part out loud’.

“It’s a nightmare,” one Democratic House member told NBC News.

After Biden’s presser, New York Times columnist and Trump foe Maggie Haberman posted: ‘Several Democratic operatives have been texting in a panic about how that press conference went.’

The United States could take a page from the United Kingdom, which relies on the so-called ‘men in gray suits’, a coalition of politicians who quietly tell a politician behind closed doors when it’s time to go.

We may also claim age restrictions. You cannot run for President of the United States until you are 35 years old. Why not limit the age as well?

Age restrictions would have saved us not only from the disaster that is Biden, but also from Donald Trump, who has recently shown his own cognitive issues.

Then again, it’s Trump Derangement Syndrome that got us here. We’ve been told over and over that the only person who can beat Trump is Biden.

Not so. In fact, the only person who will ensure a Trump victory, after this unmitigated disaster, is Old Joe.

He looked and sounded weak, frail and confused. He couldn’t control the room. He looked down at the podium as reporters shouted over each other, his demeanor tired and overwhelmed.

He answered a question about the Israeli hostage crisis in fits and starts, like a rusty car engine struggling to turn over: ‘I am of the opinion, as you know… that the actions of the response… in the Gaza Strip… was , um…’ – here he took a long pause – ‘over the top.’

Worse, he said he had spoken to ‘President Sisi’ – the leader of Egypt – about opening humanitarian aid to Gaza, but referred to him as ‘the president of Mexico’.

Our enemies are watching it. Is it a coincidence that Hamas, Iran, the Houthis, Russia, China and North Korea are so emboldened?

Joe Biden is a walking, talking crisis.

He tried to deflect the report’s devastating finding that he could not remember when Beau died.

“How the hell dare he bring it up?” Biden growled.

In all fairness to Hur, Biden talks about Beau’s death the whole time. It became the fabric of his political narrative. It’s fair game.

“Let me tell you something,” Biden continued. “I wear, since the day he died, every day, the rosary he made of Our Lady of -‘

And here, Biden visibly blank and waving one hand in front of his face, even as he tugs at the rosary on his wrist.

‘I don’t need no one, I don’t need no one to remind me of when he passed away. When he passed away’.

That is not the point. Joe Biden can no longer hide behind his personal tragedies. The stakes are too high.

Unless Thursday night’s press conference was an internal coup attempt, enough people in Biden’s inner circle thought it was a good idea — in a week in which the president announced on two separate days that he had spoken to dead heads. of state.

The media and masses should be flame Yet his defenders on the left outdid themselves Thursday night, displaying an embarrassing display of excuse-making and intellectual dishonesty. We’ll get to that in a moment.

Here’s how you can tell the DOJ report has it right: The White House press pool, which had ignored this elephant in the room for years, went after Biden with ferocity.

“How bad is your memory and can you continue as president?” asked one journalist.

“Do you think your memory has deteriorated, Mr. President?” said another.

A female reporter: ‘A lot of American people were watching, and they expressed concern about your age -‘

“That’s YOUR judgment,” Biden shot back, voice full of anger. ‘That is YOUR judgement. It is not the press’ judgement’.

But that is the judgment of the voters. The latest national poll by NBC News found that a whopping 76 percent of voters are concerned about Biden’s mental and physical ability to serve.

Yet here were Biden’s cheerleaders on Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC show, a veritable brain trust offering all manner of accusations and excuses, shaming the special counsel for doing his job — for saying what we all know to be true. Which we all just saw with our own eyes during that presser.

“What’s the word ‘elderly’ doing there?” co-anchor Lawrence O’Donnell asked. “Uh… ‘poor memory’ – what’s the test for that?”

Is he kidding?!?

MSNBC Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber: ‘Legally, there is no interest or relevance (to Biden’s admission),’ he said. ‘If it is very specific to the mental criminal intent or mens rea… Certainly.’

Except that the special prosecutor said in his finding that Biden’s “memory was poor.” exactly the reason not to press charges. To quote the report:

‘It would be difficult to convince a jury that they would convict him – by then a former president well into his eighties – of a serious crime requiring a state of intent.

Another heavy lifting, courtesy of the network’s Chris Hayes: “There was one line that just hit me,” he said — referring to the description of Biden as “painfully” slow.

‘I just thought: Who’s in pain?… In that adverb is that siren call that jumps off the page’.

Well yes. And rational Americans pay attention to that.

Now on the embarrassment that is Joy Reid: ‘It’s nasty and snarky, for no reason’.

Give a reason! I think national security now falls under the umbrella of pettiness at MSNBC.

Remember: Maddow and co. — and her ilk at the New York Times — consider themselves the smartest people in the room. Smarter than us, and certainly smarter than Democratic party insiders who have begun to openly admit that Biden must go.

Now, finally, the urgency is clear. If Biden won’t step aside, the party needs to remove him pronto.

Anything less is not only unpatriotic – it’s dangerous.
