James Maddison FUMES after Neal Maupay mocked the Tottenham star by copying his darts celebration as fans label the Brentford forward a ‘troll’… before Spurs get their revenge after Brennan Johnson strike

Tottenham star James Maddison was left heartbroken after Brentford pair Neal Maupay and Ivan Toney mocked his famous goal celebration.

Maupay gave the Bees the lead just 15 minutes into their Premier League clash away at Tottenham on Wednesday night.

The 27-year-old celebrated cheekily by doing Maddison’s famous dart in front of the Tottenham fans, with Toney following in on the act.

Maddison is a huge darts fan and has celebrated the celebration since his days at Leicester.

Their celebration led to an awkward exchange involving Maupay and Maddison – with the latter clearly unimpressed.

Maddison whacked Maupay on the back of the head, before the Brentford man tapped the England star more forcefully on the chest.

The Tottenham playmaker had his hand on the back of Maupay’s neck as the pair exchanged words before the Brentford star walked away with a smile on his face.

Fans were quick to comment on the celebration on social media, calling the Brentford forward a ‘troll’.

One wrote: ‘Maupay is such a troll omg. Not he who does the dart.’

An Arsenal fan saw the funny side when they said: ‘Not Maupay with the Maddison celebration in front of the Spurs fans.’

Dan King posted: ‘Maupay doing James Maddison’s darts after scoring against us? I have a new mortal enemy.’

While Cal Watson said: ‘Maupay gives it the Maddison celebration on his first start since his injury, and at the Spurs Stadium. What a boy.’

Tottenham would later get their revenge as Brennan Johnson celebrated the same goal after putting Tottenham 2-1 up.

The clash with Brentford marks Maddison’s return to the starting line-up after missing two months with an ankle injury.

Tottenham hope to leapfrog Aston Villa into the top four after Unai Emery’s side lost 3-1 to Newcastle yesterday.

However, Maupay gave Brentford the best start when Toney’s shot was well saved by Guglielmo Vicario – but parried into the box where Maupay was hiding and the forward could make no mistake with his finish.

Destiny Udogie, Johnson and Richarlison put Spurs 3-1 up, before Toney pulled one back.
