LIV Golf CONFIRMS the $64m signing of Tyrrell Hatton as Jon Rahm’s ‘Legion XIII’ team is announced ahead of season opener in Mexico
LIV Golf has confirmed the signing of Englishman Tyrrell Hatton as Jon Rahm’s new expansion team takes shape ahead of the Rebel Tour’s season opener in Mexico.
Ryder Cup star Hatton, who defected to the Saudi-backed enterprise in a deal worth a reported $64 million, joins Legion XIII along with Caleb Surratt and Zimbabwean Kieran Vincent.
Rahm will captain the new team and start at LIV Golf Mayakoba starting this Friday at El Camaleon Golf Course in Playa del Carmen.
“We’ve come a long way in a short period of time and are extremely proud of the team and brand we’re building,” said the reigning Masters champion, who walked away from the PGA Tour last month with a $500 million deal.

Hatton has represented Europe in each of the past three Ryder Cups and played alongside Rahm during last year’s victory in Rome.
The 32-year-old, who won his first PGA Tour title at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational, is currently ranked No. 16 in the world.
“I’m very excited for this next chapter, to connect with Jon Rahm and Legion XIII, and to start this week in Mexico,” said Hatton, whose career earnings are approaching $22 million.
Surratt, meanwhile, is the reigning SEC individual champion. The Tennessee sophomore, one of the top-ranked amateurs in world golf, is turning pro to join LIV Golf.

Vincent joins his brother Scott on the Rebel Tour, having qualified through LIV Golf Promotions in December.
