MAFS: Is Lucinda the kookiest bride ever? Byron Bay hippy gets her marriage celebrant to wave a ‘chicken wing’ at horrified groom

Married at First Sight may have just debuted their most eccentric bride yet.

Lucinda Light, 43, appeared on Tuesday night’s episode of the 2024 season and caused quite a stir when she met her TV ‘husband’ Timothy.

The Byron Bay wedding celebrant and MC is known as a free-spirited, grounded ‘earth mum’, while 51-year-old Timothy is a no-nonsense business owner from Melbourne.

Before their wedding ceremony, Timothy expressed concern that his bride would be a ‘spiritual, energetic type’.

He stood up as Lucinda invited a celebrant to start their marriage with a smoking ceremony, waving a white-feathered ‘chicken wing’ in the air to ‘clear away any negativity’.

Timothy struggled to hold it together, while Lucinda appeared completely engulfed in smoke.

“When they were swinging that chicken wing, I felt very uncomfortable,” Timothy told the cameras.

‘It was a real chicken wing! I wasn’t in the moment… I thought, “Where did they get the chicken wing?”

“Like, was it a sacrificial chicken or did they just get that wing?”

The businessman begged for something to fall from the sky and save him when, to his surprise, an unexpected downpour poured in and completely washed away the couple’s special day.

Guests frantically rushed inside for cover, while one pregnant attendee almost ‘had her baby’ in the run for cover.

The gloomy weather, which Lucinda says made her special day even better, temporarily prevented the couple from exchanging vows.

But as the rain and clouds cleared, the ceremony resumed with Lucinda sharing her heartfelt vows.

Her gentle and caring words prompted Timothy to change his first impressions of his bride.

“You can tell she just has a great heart,” Timothy said.

‘We are definitely opposites. But Lucinda surprised me. She is a beautiful person.’

The newlyweds shared not one, but three first kisses at the altar, before walking down the aisle together as husband and wife.

‘So far so good!’ An excited Lucinda told producers about her match.
