Married At First Sight groom Jack Dunkley’s ex hits out as she breaks her silence over ‘sickening’ on-air wedding spectacle – and says she needed therapy and medication following their split
The ex-girlfriend of controversial Married At First Sight groom Jack Dunkley has spoken out for the first time after she accused him of leaving her just weeks before filming began in August last year.
Courtney Jade says she has been left distressed as her ‘marriage’ plays out with TV bride Tori Adams.
‘It was a very difficult time in my life. One that I don’t wish on anyone,” she told USA Online Post Australia on Wednesday.
‘I hope it doesn’t keep happening to other people. It was a horrible experience and not something I want to talk about.’
Courtney then posted an emotionally charged statement to her Instagram stories.

She said she’s sad that Jake plans to air dirty laundry about their breakup on the show.
“I hope everyone gets sick entertainment from my horrible breakup on Channel Nine,” she gushed.
“I have no comment regarding MAFS, so would appreciate it if media and all forms of communication would leave me alone.”
She also opened up about her ongoing personal struggles following their bitter break-up, revealing that she was forced to take medication and regularly see a psychologist.
“I saw a therapist and was medicated because of the disgusting trauma I experienced and would like to be left alone to heal,” she said.

Courtney explained the fact that their breakup was going to play out so publicly made things much harder to process.
“It’s one thing to go through a breakup, but it’s another to have to relive it on national TV and talk about it,” she added.
‘Enjoy watching the fame hungry people who ruin lives and create nothing but pain. I am embarrassed by the world we live in and absolutely appalled by my experience.’
She questioned the show’s premise, asking: ‘Create love or create monsters?’ before appealing for her privacy to be respected.

In August, Courtney revealed that Jake broke up with her just before he went on the show.
‘Break up with me right after I met his family and he told me he loved me. Telling me it’s for (a) ‘job opportunity in America’ only to find out he’s at MAFS in Sydney,’ Courtney wrote on The Wash‘s Instagram photos back in August.
Things were serious between the duo, with Courtney even selling furniture when they planned to move in together.
Dunkley was reportedly previously engaged to another woman.
