Patrick Mahomes’ father, 53, is ARRESTED for DWI in Texas in at least the THIRD time the former baseball star has been picked up by cops – just a week before son’s Super Bowl game
Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested for DUI – just a week before his son’s fourth Super Bowl appearance.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s 53-year-old father was arrested Saturday night in Tyler, Texas, on his third DWI or more.
He is being held on a $10,000 bond. Mahomes Sr., who is a 6’4 former professional baseball pitcher, is currently in custody at the Smith County Jail.
The Chiefs are currently preparing for their Super Bowl showdown against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11 in Las Vegas.

Mahomes Sr. had his second DWI charge in 2018 – where he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 40 days in county jail.
After two DWI convictions in Texas, the third DWI offense is classified as a third degree felony. The maximum fine is $10,000, and the maximum prison sentence is 10 years in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison.
It is unclear as of Sunday afternoon whether Mahomes Sr. posted a mortgage.
This is not the Mahomes family’s first time in court. The Chiefs quarterback’s younger brother Jackson was arrested on a warrant for aggravated sexual assault and booked into a Kansas jail in 2023.
In January this year, three charges of serious sexual abuse were withdrawn. A fourth charge — felony battery — remains, and Jackson Mahomes has pleaded not guilty to that charge.
Jackson Mahomes’ attorney, Brandan Davies, said in a statement that his client “did nothing wrong. We had full confidence that the truth of the matter would eventually be revealed.’
The original charges accused Jackson Mahomes, a 23-year-old social media influencer, of crimes that occurred on Feb. 25 at Aspens Restaurant and Lounge in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.
Investigators said Mahomes pushed a waiter who was trying to get into a room where he was with the restaurant’s owner, Aspen Vaughn.
After the waiter left, Mahomes grabbed Vaughn by the throat and forcibly kissed her three different times without her consent, prosecutors alleged.
Mahomes Sr. said that he and Taylor Swift, who he described as ‘very nice’ and ‘pleasant’, shared a suite at a Chiefs game, but only once

Just days before his arrest, Mahomes Sr. came to the defense of his quarterback son after he faced online criticism for his physique.
“He’s in the gym all the time,” the former MLB pitcher, who has had teams with the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates, among others, told CNN. ‘He trains three times a week.
‘He’s just sorry he got it from me. It’s in his DNA. We don’t get the muscles like DK Metcalf and some of the guys who are built like stones and statues.
“We just got this natural dad bid, but hey, we represent.”
When asked what he thought about the excitement surrounding the Chiefs and Taylor Swift, with whom he once shared a suite, ahead of Super Bowl LVIII next week in Las Vegas, Mahomes Sr. said, ‘Well, that’s exciting.
‘I mean Taylor has always been very, very nice and pleasant to me.
‘I’ve actually only been in the box with her once. I went to see her at games and things like that.
‘But she has always been pleasant. But the buzz around the Chiefs is real, man. It is real. I mean any time you can come back to the Super Bowl as many times as they’ve had … and it’s not just Patrick, it’s the whole team, you know?
“Every sports team… their goal is to get to that last game and they’ve been lucky enough to come back four times now and hopefully we can get it right this time.”
