Pennsylvania son Justin Mohn who beheaded his dad smirks in mugshot as college roommate reveals he thought government was ‘out to get him’

The Pennsylvania man accused of beheading his own father before flaunting his head in a gruesome YouTube video was pictured smiling in his mugshot.

Justin Mohn (32) was charged Wednesday with the first-degree murder of his father, Michael Mohn (68), who was found decapitated in his Levittown home on Tuesday. After the brutal murder, Mohn held up his father’s head in a YouTube video where he called him a traitor and blasted the federal government.

A former roommate of Mohn’s at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, who lived with him for two years, told DailyMail.com that the self-proclaimed ‘messiah’ had been showing signs of paranoia since 2016, and believed the government was out to get him. him’

“I don’t really know how I could have heard about it and not been surprised,” he said. “It’s not hard to see in that video how he got to where he was from when I knew him.”

While Mohn often spoke out against the Biden administration, his former roommate went on to say the alleged killer was always anti-establishment and had a “deeply paranoid side” — regardless of who was in the White House.

“Trump was in office when I was his roommate and he also said some pretty conspiratorial things about that administration,” he shared. ‘I don’t think he was like a right winger, he was so disconnected from everything.

The roommate added: ‘It doesn’t really matter what the politics of it were, he’s going to be convinced that the government is out to get him no matter who’s in charge.

‘He talked to me for hours about the government and all these different forces that were out to get him and what he was like. He was anti-establishment. He was going to be the revolutionary, was his opinion at the time too.’

In the disturbing 14-minute YouTube video recorded hours before his arrest, Mohn declared that he was the President of the United States and held up his father’s head in a bloodied plastic bag while addressing the LGBTQ community, the Black Lives Matter movement, antifa and the federal government in general.

Mohn was prone to violent outbursts, often bragging to his roommate about the fights he was involved in – once destroying their shared apartment over dirty dishes.

“I came back to find it completely trashed, he punched holes in the walls, broke the mirror,” the roommate claimed. ‘When I confronted him about it, he basically said he didn’t remember doing any of that and that he was really angry.

‘He was definitely prone to outbursts, and like, you know, tantrums and that sort of thing. He would say he had extreme PTSD, but wouldn’t go into detail about it or what caused it.’

Mohn also had his father stay for a weekend visit while he studied at UCCS, with their relationship described as ‘good’, despite Mohn’s claims that his father worked for the government.

‘He (Michael Mohn) was a really nice guy who seemed like two of them got along. He talked about his father having a job in the government, but everything he said was hard to believe. He will never go into details.’

DailyMail.com could not confirm whether Mike Mohn was a federal employee. Retirement age for federal employees is typically 62 years old.

Mohn also reportedly worked as a debt collector and was obsessed with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

He was described as a loner with no friends, who was ‘unable to have a girlfriend.’

The suspected killer’s terrified mother, Denice, 63, called police on Tuesday to report finding her husband’s headless body in a bathroom at their home with a ‘large amount of blood around him,’ according to court documents .

Police discovered the man’s head inside a plastic bag placed in a cooking pot in a bedroom next to the bathroom, where they recovered a large kitchen knife and a machete from the bathtub. Detectives also found bloody rubber gloves in a first-floor bedroom.

In the YouTube clip, Mohn said that many saw him as the messiah and wanted him as president, while encouraging family members living with federal employees to kill them. He blamed the federal government for “woke mobs” and migrants he claims are destroying the United States, and railed against “globalists and communists.”

DailyMail.com has chosen to obscure images of the clip, which are too disturbing to reproduce.

Levitttown police said Mohn was arrested after 9 p.m. ET Tuesday in Fort Indiana Gap in central Pennsylvania, about two hours from his last known residence, while driving his father’s car.

Police say Mohn, who was armed, jumped the fence at the National Guard Training Center in the area and was armed. His vehicle was found outside one of the fences.

“He jumped over one of the fences and was apprehended on foot here at the installation without incident,” said Angela Watson, communications director for Pennsylvania’s Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

In the beheading clip, he rants about taxes and declares that the economy is ‘close to destruction’ and most Americans ‘can no longer afford the American dream.’

Mohn also said he was offering a $1 million reward to anyone who could kill top officials, including FBI Director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland and former Attorney General Bill Barr.

He said there was a ‘globalist and communist’ plot against the United States, before ranting about the federal government and holding up his father’s head in a silver cooking pot.

Clues to Mohn’s downward spiral can be found in a legal battle against the US government, with Mohn suing them for negligently providing him with a student loan that made him “an overeducated white man,” unable to not get a job.

He said in the filing that he was a 2014 graduate of Pennsylvania State University, with a degree in agribusiness management.

In previous posts on social media, Mohn has spoken out about a ‘civil war’ between him and his followers and what he calls ‘The Cult’.

In one ill-advised post, he wrote: ‘Even my own family hold this cult belief and are willing to go to jail to prove it. Donald Trump, if this is not fixed ASAP, you too will be in jail for the rest of your life after I sue you for everything you own – that’s not a threat, that’s a promise b* ***.’

The alleged killer’s Facebook accounts have apparently been deleted since Wednesday morning, and his name is not searchable on X.
